Dana Kader Robb, BEO (barefoot executive officer)
I love good writing and beautiful design; I love the energy of people working together toward a positive goal; I love sailboats. There are lots of other things I love, but those seem the most pertinent at the moment. Except for the boats... although then again they're always pertinent.
I've been an entrepreneur since 1991 and a community volunteer for longer than that. I've studied -- and taught -- communication, branding, and networking. I've been honored with a number of awards for marketing and design. And to this day, one of my greatest joys is that I get to work with people who are passionate about what they're doing.
Being in business for myself has provided me with so many opportunities. I've had wonderful mentors, and I've served in that capacity for others. I have a sort of "feed me, I'm yours" policy. Buy me lunch and I'll let you pick my brain about pretty much anything!
Truth is, I've had a lot of adventures. I've skydived. I've survived heart surgery by a robot. I'm scuba certified. I race sailboats on Lake Michigan and the coast of California and I've sailed from Cyprus to Tel Aviv. I can ride a motorcycle and I've flown a plane. A while back I hugged a live alligator named Bubba. He didn't hug back. My clients are a fantastic adventure too, and they frequently hug back (literally as well as metaphorically).
My goal is to help make your business or organization a healthier place than it has been. That might mean updating marketing materials, increasing membership, developing organizational systems, or improving internal and external communications. I find that I often become part of the team, rather than simply a vendor or provider. And nothing could make me happier than that. Except maybe sailboats.
